Hi, my name is Murray Lewis, and I am from Nova Scotia CANADA. I bought my bike new In 1984. The blue and silver picture of my bike was about 5 months after it was purchased. I have been drag racing and street racing may bike since new, and my best pass down the quarter mile was 10.987 at 124.30 mph with a 60 foot of 1.7103. The things that I did to the bike to run ten second times was to slide the fork tubes up the triple trees about 2 inches, pump the front tire up to 40 psi, drop the rear tire down to 18psi, take all the air out of rear air shock, and pump the front shocks to max air pressure, and set the front shock anti-dive to 3. The black and silver pictures are the same bike three years later. I had to change the colour….... the local police were starting to recognize the blue and silver bike….. I put a Hindle Header, K&N carburetor jet kit, and aftermarket clutch on the bike at this time. Amazingly, my quarter mile times did not get any quicker, the bike was actually harder to launch when racing, but mid and top end racing was increased, and my top end mph went from 122,124 to 127,129. I still have this bike today, and after dragracing the bike for 21 years, the only thing I broke was the clutch hub. The cure for the broken clutch hub was replacing it with a hub from a 1986 1000 ninja……No more problems. I painted the bike from black and silver to all black in 1995 ……More police problems….I will send more pictures when I get the chance. I am currently putting a zx11 motor in my 900 ninja and will send pictures when finished. My goal is to run flat tens to high nines in street trim. Wouldn’t It be cool to scare those hayabusa’s in the quarter mile? Time will tell….. P.S. for every mile of road, there are two miles of ditch……….
